Thankfully... You really can have a beautiful Gluten Free Thanksgiving Dinner!

Pumpkin Pie made with Mona's Bread Roll & Pastry Mix

I breathe a sigh of relief as I think about the strides I've made over the past several years in replacing the foods I had been dearly missing in my life. As the holidays approach I speak with more and more people that are asking the same questions that I had for years and I'm very thankful that unlike the times that my questions were unable to be answered I have lots of great information to share.

Like many of you, I used to feel that I had to prepare 'two meals' for dinner parties hosted in my home, always being doubly taxed by the additional worries of having glutinous foods shuffling around my stove and counter top... but no more. I couldn't even tell you the last time I had any interaction with something I couldn't eat and why should I? I am able to prepare beautiful, flavorful, satisfying appetizers, main courses and desserts that are completely Gluten Free so why would I ever think I had to offer a guest anything different? The focus in this situation is how you 'think' about your Gluten Free Lifestyle.

We all seem to go through the rigors of feeling like Guinea Pigs when it comes to finding non glutinous foods to replace what's been taken from our lives in going Gluten Free. I look at it as a 'right of passage' and that it is just that, something we 'pass through'. Unfortunately some of us continue to carry that negative feeling and are apprehensive about subjecting those we love to the same 'tests'. When we display our hardships to others, lamenting over the wonderful foods in our past and voicing negative opinions on the foods in our present and future, we plant seeds in the minds of those around us. Who would want to sit down to a 'celebration dinner' only to be fed foods that the cook continually expressed displeasure for? Not me!

There are so many choices in the Gluten Free market place today that there is no reason for anyone to go without any of the foods they love. If you haven't found a replacement for whatever you're missing, don't settle for what you're using now and not enjoying... Keep looking! I often tell people 'if it's GF Wonderbread you're looking for... you're probably never going to find it'. You have to be reasonable and keep in mind that we're pretty much reinventing the wheel here but there is plenty of great Gluten Free bread out there and everything else your heart could so desire.

There's a wealth of information to be found on the recipe pages of Mona's Website. Here I will offer links to a complete and completely fantastic Gluten Free Thanksgiving Dinner :) Some recipes may need to be doubled to meet your needs.

With our products I've been able to recreate all of the holiday recipes I'd missed for so long.
